More than 60 Years of History..................

OCTOBER 1945 - Eight jewish families gathered together to formulate the establishment of a jewish community in North Broward calling it "The Pompano Circle". Meetings were held at the members' homes for several years .

1956 - The Pompano Circle became TEMPLE SHOLOM with the knowledge and commitment  that they would eventually build a Synagogue. They began operations in fall 1958, with a very limited budget.

FEBRUARY 7th,1960 - TEMPLE SHOLOM Groundbreaking ceremonies.Temple was completed in July and the congregation increased to almost 300 members.

 1968 - Building the Temple Sholom Hebrew School, which included classrooms, assembly hall and library.

1974 - A new Santuary and Social Hall were built, capable of accommodating more than 300 families.

1993 - Rabbi Ivan Wachmann became the spiritual leader of the congregation.  

2004, TEMPLE SHOLOM welcomed  Cantor Hesh Mayersdorf.

   2007Temple Sholom became the new Jewish Center at Temple Sholom

Temple Sholom maintains its leadership in the Jewish community with groups and committees to meet the needs of every age. Our President  leads the active Board of Trustees and all the Committees, creating a real "jewish second home"
